Assurant Solutions companies provide life, disability, unemployment, accidental death and dismemberment, and property coverages to consumers who are typically underserved by the insurance industry. We also underwrite and administer warranties and extended service contract programs sold in conjunction with consumer appliance and electronics purchases. Our products and services are marketed on a wholesale basis through strategic partnerships with various entities, many of which provide consumer financing as part of their business.

Assurant Solutions has offices and service centers in Florida, Georgia, Oklahoma and Texas in the United States and affiliated companies and support operations in Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain and the United Kingdom.

Assurant Solutions traces its roots to the acquisition of American Security Group in 1980 by Fortis, the Dutch-Belgian financial services company. In August 1999, Fortis acquired American Bankers Insurance Group, Miami, Florida, and merged its operations with those of American Security to form Assurant Group. Assurant Group was renamed Assurant Solutions in February 2004 when Fortis divested its U.S. insurance businesses through an initial public offering.

Today, Assurant Solutions is part of Assurant, Inc., a premier provider of specialized insurance products and related services in North America and selected other markets. Assurant's four key business units - Assurant Employee Benefits, Assurant Health, Assurant Specialty Property and Assurant Solutions - have partnered with clients who are leaders in their industries and have built leadership positions in a number of specialty insurance market segments in the U.S. and selected international markets.

Assurant is traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol AIZ. It has approximately $24 billion in assets and $7 billion in revenue.
