Assurant Services Ireland Limited appoints Fiona Nash as claims director

Assurant Solutions - a specialist in creating, underwriting and administering niche insurance protection products - has announced the appointment of Fiona Nash as claims director for its Irish affiliate, Assurant Services Ireland Limited.

Fiona will be responsible for driving and implementing strategies to ensure that claims from Assurant policyholders are processed and dealt with in the most swift and efficient manner. Her responsibilities will include ensuring that Assurant claims handling practices are in line with the highest national and international standards and guidelines. She will also be responsible for liasing with clients of Assurant with a view to ensuring that all Assurant products are delivered in a customer friendly and considerate manner

Fiona takes up her new role having previously served as Claims Supervisor and Claims Manager within the Assurant claims department since the set-up of Assurant Services Ireland Limited (ASIL). In these roles she developed and implemented the processes that she will now be directing.

Prior to joining Assurant, she served as an Account Manager with Smurfit Ireland, where she provided customer support and inventory management services for the packaging needs of twelve global accounts.

Fiona holds a BA (Hons) in Liberal Arts from the University of Limerick.

Assurant Solutions' operation in Ireland is supported by a service centre in Cork operated by an affiliate, Assurant Services Ireland Ltd. Established in 1999 as a claims processing centre for U.S. operations, the centre currently employs 94 people.

Assurant Solutions specialises in creating insurance products including payment protection insurance, warranty and service contracts, and credit card price and purchase protection. The business works with financial institutions, intermediaries, brokers and high street and home shopping retailers to design, develop, underwrite, administer and market these niche insurance lines.
